Austin, Texas, is home to about 170 species of butterflies. It is also the home of the Austin Butterfly Forum, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to butterfly conservation and to enriching people's lives through butterflies. This group is being started by the President of the San Antonio chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas (NPSOT) to provide information on chapter meetings, events, workshops and outings related to native plants of the San Antonio area. This is a meetup focused on herbalism and plant medicine.  We learn these subjects through herbology classes, events, scenarios and exercises that are all based on practical, herbal medicine in the field, at home, in a post-disaster setting, in wilderness or urban settings. Additionally, we teach standard Wilderness First Aid Certification.
